Beautiful pattern, and very soft. Very warm, we only have a sheet underneath it. The size shown is about the same size as what is on my bed, it does touch the floor (which my cat LOVES!). My bed is 27” high. Unfortunately, the color ended up being an almost silvery blue other than what appeared to be a darker gray on my monitor. We do like it a lot, just not quite the the color I wanted in my room.Ordered the brick color, which in the color select is brown. In person it’s a orange color. I don’t mind it because of my wall color, but thought I’d let anyone know expecting the Brice color as advertised showing up.Received today, love it as soon as I put it on bed. When back to look at it and I see the threads missing right on top. My eyes go right to it. So not sure I am going to keep. Poor Quality in sewingA nice bedspread. It hangs about 3" above the floor on a tall four poster full size bed.The velour top has a very short nap. It is soft and meets my tactile appraisal. The quilt batting between the velour and backing is VERY thin. It is a thinner covering than the Tribeca Florence velvet comforter that I also purchased. The Tribeca comforter has a higher quality, thicker velour than this comforter. In the winter, I will put a down comforter, inside a 200 GSM flannel duvet cover under this bedspread. For summer, this bedspread serves as a lighter weight blanket. But, my granddaughter will probably choose to sleep on top of the bedspread. The velour is soft and comfy to the touch.The Scuba Blue color was not anywhere near the color pictured. The actual color is a much softer, lighter shade. It is not an electric vivid blue as pictured. Disappointing as I purchased this specifically for the vibrant blue. It is for my 7 year old granddaughters Little Mermaid themed bedroom. The color still works, but it is not what I had expected. I took a picture of the bedspread to post. Perhaps it is a function of the flash, but the blue in my photo is more vivid than the comforter color is in person.There were a few loose threads. They were easy to snip.The comforter had deep creases in the velvet when it was removed from the packaging. Laundering did not resolve the problem. I will give it a few days to see if the creases will resolve on their own. At full price, they need to resolve for this to be a keeper. [Update on creases: They have not resolved. I am not sure if I want to try ordering another set to see if a second spread will have this same problem or just live with it. It cost about $10 to launder it at a laundromat. Coupled with the full price purchase, I am a bit peeved. Even so, my granddaughter loves it, creases and all. It is soft and she likes the color. You can't see the creases at night when you are sleeping. I believe the problem with creases could have been avoided if the vinyl package had been larger.] I am attaching two pictures of the creases. You can clearly see the indentation of the pillow sham scallops and the fold lines on the comforter AFTER laundering and AFTER the comforter has been on the bed for several days. This is proof that the creases were NOT caused during laundering. The wrinkles that show in the picture can NOT be smoothed out.The bedspread, pillow shams and small decorative pillow were laundered at a laundromat in their largest front load washer using 2 cups BORAX and a squirt of Dawn dish soap. Hot water, extra extraction. It was dried for 15 minutes on high heat. It was about 97% dry. I let it air dry the rest of the way. In the future, it will be laundered at lower temps. It came out beautifully except for a few remaining creases.No bad smells.The shams were a VERY tight fit on memory foam pillows. Larger shams would have been appreciated. But, I have found that a lot of manufacturers skimp on their shams and make them too small for real pillows. Smaller sized shams compress the pillow filling and make the pillows feel hard. This applies to fiber filled and down pillows as well. The bedspread sizing is perfect. The shams are too small. The small throw pillow is okay.The four poster bed frame causes a problem at the foot of the bed for the bedspread. The bedspread needs to be scrunched up over the end corners. Because of this, it doesn't flow around the foot of the bed. A comforter probably would have been a better choice for a four poster bed with a foot board. Picture provided.All four corners are rounded. The bedspread can be rotated end to end.My granddaughter is happy with the color and how soft the bedspread is.I paid full price for this set. $90. The price was too high for this item. I am downgrading my original star rating to one star because I don't see any means of removing the creases. I believe they will be permanent.The back of both the bedspread and shams is a cheap cotton like fabric. They are not reversible. Higher quality shams should ALWAYS be backed in the same fabric as the front of the sham. The cheap backing on the shams is a money grabbing ploy of manufacturers. The ONLY velvet shams I have found lately with a velvet back are on the Brielle velvet comforter set. Their shams feel awesome, but they are still too small for a real pillow. Both the Brielle and Tribeca Florence comforter sets have higher quality velvet.The Tribeca Florence and Brielle velvet comforter sets (other brands) I purchased do not have any permanent creases from shipping. Their velvet quality is nicer than the velvet on this spread.Sadly I returned this bedspread because the actual color description was not accurate. It was a waste of my time and money because of the inaccurate reporting of color. This bedspread was advertised as “Taupe” color, but it turn out to be “Gold”. It was beautiful, soft, oversized fit, quality material and good price but the color was totally wrong and not what I thought I would get.Hard to wash because they absorb so much water. Need a big machine without a center pole. Do love the size.Gorgeous color and soft comforter! I've been looking for a new bed set, and spent a long time looking before finally deciding on this, but with reservations. That said, going to answer the questions I had about this set before I bought it but decided to take the chance and buy anyway. First thing, the picture looks somewhat velvety, somewhat soft and shiny texture. I wasn't sure when I bought it of what the material would be like, whether it would be velvet like or just soft and shiny. Well, it is velvety and not shiny. Very soft. I'm typically not a "velvet" person, as lint and all kinds of stuff gets stuck up in it. So far though, I love this comforter and no problems with that. The reverse side of the comforter is maybe microfiber, a sheet like material. Second question I had before buying, the length of the comforter on all sides of the bed: I have a king. I wanted something where I would not need a bed skirt. This is long on all sides and so you need no bed skirt. It comes to the floor at the end of the bed, and on the sides, it comes to about 3 inches from the floor. It's very big and should sufficiently cover your bed all the way to the floor. Third question I had: The color on the advert was called scuba blue. For me, I'm trying to make my bedroom as much like a tropical beach as possible and also bought a wall decal to put above my bed of a huge picture of a caribbean beach/ocean. The way the color looks in the picture of this product, is very beautiful, but doesn't really seem like turquoise, but a more vibrant caribbean blue (think of what the ocean in Cancun looks like). The actual comforter compared to the picture, not as vibrant but a bit of a lighter color, and basically, just like regular turquoise or teal. Not to dissuade from buying, as it's still very beautiful and very ocean like, but the color is not quite as vibrant as in the picture. All in all, love this bed set!Somewhat disappointed after washing my bedspread, I noticed the shams were not the king size shams which should have been included. They were standard. Having trouble trying to contact Amazon. I do not want to return the whole thing. Hoping just to replace the shams. Otherwise would have rated it higher. Beautiful rich colour.This bedspread is a really good buy. The quality is excellent and it is a perfect fit. We actually bought two, one for a California King and one for a Queen. Both are correctly sized. The colours are rich and the material is heavy and durable. Altogether, very satisfied on all counts.Finally a real bed spread. It actually fits my bed. I ordered king for a Queen but the bigger size is perfect. The picture makes it look heavy. It's not. Bed still needs a blanket. I'm loving it. It didn't hurt that it was almost $100.00 off regular price.The bedspread looks lovely on my bed, it's very soft and comfortable, would definitely recommend it.
